Together with their other excellent Kriegsspiel rules and materials, the 1:7500 scale map of the Koniggratz battlefield based on the 1866 Prussian Army survey is now available from Two Fat Lardies.
The map is in full colour and consists of 44 A3 pages in all, printed on high quality art paper. Forty A4 pages make up the detailed map of the battlefield which are sold with a two page full colour smaller map and a single page black and white map.
They have also included an article about an 1862 Kreigsspiel rule variant for the Austro-Prussian War with details for Austrian forces to field against the Prussians in their Summer Special.

Kriegsspiel, of course, simply means Wargame. But wargames take so many different forms today from computer games to paint ball shooting that I think it is useful to retain the Kriegsspiel description for games which fall into a certain type so that we may know what we are talking about. |
